WELCOME

I hope to work alongside you in this next step of your mental health journey to make it feel rewarding, worthwhile, and effective. I am not there to “fix” you, I am here to provide a safe, healthy, protected, and nurturing environment for you to heal on your own.

My Commitment to You

About Me

With over sixteen years of combined experience in education and counseling, I bring a unique perspective to my work as a Mental Health Counselor Associate. I began my career as a Crisis Clinician in NY and have spent the last ten as a School Counselor in FL, supporting students, families, and educators in fostering academic success and emotional growth. My time in the school has provided me with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by children, adolescents, and parents, emphasizing the need for supportive environments that promote well-being. Naturally warm, empathetic, and approachable, I strive to create a safe space where clients can open up without judgment, using compassion and patience to build trust and encourage personal growth.

What Brings Me Joy

Outside of counseling, I cherish spending quality time with my family. Whether it’s enjoying simple everyday moments at home, exploring new places together, or creating lasting traditions, family is at the heart of my life. This value of connection deeply influences the way I support and care for my clients.

Education

2006-2009

Masters of Science

Canisius University

I hold a Master of Science in both Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling from Canisius University, where I developed expertise in clinical assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions. My training also emphasized academic and career guidance, social-emotional development, and crisis intervention within school settings. With a strong foundation in multicultural competence, ethical practice, and collaboration, I bring a well-rounded skill set to supporting the growth and well-being of individuals and families across educational and community settings.

2003-2006

Bachelors of Arts Degree
University at Buffalo

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus in Early Childhood, where I gained a strong foundation in human development, learning, and behavior. My studies emphasized child development, educational psychology, and family systems, providing me with insight into how early experiences shape social, emotional, and cognitive growth. This background strengthened my skills in observation, communication, and supportive intervention with children and families.

My Guiding Principles

I am guided by four core principles that shape my approach to working with clients: empathy, warmth, non-judgment, and humor. I believe that empathy is crucial to understanding and connecting with my clients, and I strive to create a safe and supportive space where they can feel heard and understood. I also believe that warmth and a non-judgmental attitude are essential to building trust and fostering a therapeutic relationship that can facilitate growth and change. Finally, I value humor as a way to break down barriers, relieve tension, and bring levity to difficult or heavy topics. These principles are at the heart of my practice, and I work tirelessly to uphold them in everything I do.
